Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that the Firm has been recognized by the New York City Bar Association’s Environmental Law Committee for its initiatives to support sustainability through participation in the Law Firm Sustainability Network’s (“LFSN”) American Legal Industry Sustainability Standard (“ALISS”). Blank Rome Partner Kevin R. Doherty accepted the certificate of recognition on behalf of the Firm at an awards ceremony event held on March 21, 2019, in New York City.
Blank Rome has been actively involved with LFSN for the past six years. The Firm has been a member of LFSN since 2013, and Blank Rome Partner Kevin J. Bruno, who serves as co-chair of the Firm's Energy, Environmental, and Mass Torts practice group, was appointed in 2014 as a member of the board of directors and treasurer of LFSN. Furthermore, Blank Rome participated as one of the 15 law firms to pilot ALISS when it launched in 2015, and received ALISS certification from LFSN in 2017, in recognition of the Firm’s sustainability program and its efforts to reduce its environmental impact. Within the sustainability arena, Blank Rome’s nationally recognized energy and environmental practices provide a broad range of counseling, regulatory, and litigation-support activities to U.S. and international clients, including in a wide variety of core energy and renewable energy project development and technologies. In addition, these practices frequently advise clients in connection with the financing, permitting, and development of alternative energy sources. In July 2017, the group launched Energy and Environmental Trends Watch, a blog that provides insight and analysis on the latest developments in energy and environmental law.
