Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Theresa A. Topping and Gabrielle I. Weiss have joined the firm’s Philadelphia office as associates in the Labor & Employment practice group. Theresa joins Blank Rome from Margolis Edelstein and Gabrielle joins the firm from Anapol Weiss.
Theresa concentrates her practice on representing employers in a wide range of employment litigation matters. She handles litigation cases in both single-plaintiff and collective actions in state and federal courts. Theresa defends employers against a variety of claims involving employment discrimination and retaliation, hostile work environment, failure to pay overtime wages, tortious interference of contract rights, violations of restrictive covenants, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Earlier in her career, Theresa served as an assistant district attorney at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.
Gabrielle concentrates her practice on a wide range of employment matters and has notable experience representing clients in all aspects of employment litigation, both on the defense and plaintiff side. She has represented clients in reductions in force, handling all aspects of multi-plaintiff discovery and severance considerations, and has represented organizations in matters arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. Gabrielle is also well versed in employee discipline arbitrations. Additionally, she has spent significant time counseling clients regarding severance agreements and regulation changes under Title IX and conducting internal investigations regarding a wide array of employment issues.
Theresa earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Stockton University. During law school, Theresa was a member of Drexel Law’s nationally recognized Trial Team, where she earned the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers James J. Manderino Award for Trial Advocacy, and currently serves as a coach for the team.
Gabrielle received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her B.S., cum laude, from Tulane University. She has been annually recognized as a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Super Lawyers since 2022.
