Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Cory R. Edwards and Michael S. Rubin have joined the firm’s Chicago and New York offices, respectively, in the Intellectual Property Litigation practice group.
Their arrival advances the strategic expansion of Blank Rome’s national Intellectual Property & Technology practice, which has grown over the last 18 months with the additions of partner and co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice group Paul Zeineddin, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology practice group Hussein Akhavannik, and attorneys Mark F. Mashack and Timothy S. Schwarz in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office; partner Josh Reisberg in the New York office; partner Todd Malynn in the Los Angeles office; and patent agents Benjamin A. Ailes, Dr. Amir Kyarad, David B. Hardy, and Dr. Joseph B. Jackson in the firm’s Philadelphia and Houston offices.
Cory joins Blank Rome from Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP. He concentrates his practice on advising clients on litigation, patent prosecution, and commercial licensing strategies. Cory has notable experience analyzing and revising major electronic corporations’ client agreements, drafting invalidity contentions, enforcing intellectual property rights, analyzing clients’ patent portfolios, conducting discovery, as well as drafting and filing written arguments in support of a client’s position in litigation.
Admitted to practice in Illinois and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Cory received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law, and his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Michael joins Blank Rome from Venable LLP. He concentrates his practice on a wide range of intellectual property litigation matters. Michael has notable experience in all stages of litigation, including deposition preparation, discovery requests, and witnesses interviews. He also has experience drafting motions throughout all stages of commercial and patent litigations and drafting memoranda regarding various matters in patent, trademark, and corporate law.
Michael is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Texas. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, and his B.A., cum laude, in Computer Science from CUNY Queens College. During law school, Michael served as an associate editor for the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media, and Entertainment Law Journal.
