Biography
Ann E. Querns litigates complex business disputes. She has experience counseling clients and advocating for them in disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, theft of trade secrets, business torts, and products liability.
Ann also represents both corporations and individuals in criminal enforcement actions. She has represented clients in the investigation and defense of criminal matters, including violations of antitrust laws and complex fraud related to healthcare and employee conduct.
Ann’s work spans across industries, with a specific focus on life sciences, as she has represented pharmaceutical companies in state and federal courts across the country.
Ann served as law clerk to the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. While in law school she was a member of The George Washington University International Law Review and the Mock Trial Board. Ann also interned for the Honorable Garrett E. Brown, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Outside the Firm
Ann loves the outdoors and practices yoga every chance she gets. She is also an active member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Haddonfield, serving as the Secretary of Church Council.
Experience
- National litigation counsel for a major generic drug manufacturer for claims related to ranitidine, including claims consolidated in the In re: Zantac (Ranitidine) Products Liability Litigation MDL 2924.
- National litigation counsel for two manufacturers of alendronate sodium in two multidistrict litigations (“MDLs”) and two state coordinated proceedings.
- Represented generic pharmaceutical company in seeking preliminary injunction against third-party contractor for theft of trade secrets, delaying defendants launch date.
- Represented a global medical device company, in multiple matters involving prosecuting violations of non-competition agreements, theft of trade secrets, unfair competition, fraud, and false advertising under the Lanham Act.
- Represented economists in their submission of an amicus brief to inform the Second Circuit of economic policies and principles relevant to an antitrust dispute involving “product hopping” by a brand name pharmaceutical manufacturer.
- Successfully arbitrated a breach of contract case for a warehouse logistics company regarding warehouse management software.
- Obtained complete defense award after four-day arbitration regarding breach of contract involving a multimillion-dollar asset purchase agreement.
- Conducted internal investigations for publicly held corporations into whistleblower allegations of fraud by employees and corporate officers.
- Represented an individual accused of fraudulently competing for government contracts.
- Represented psychologists involved in creating and implementing the Central Intelligence Agency’s Enhanced Interrogation Technique Program, in connection with claims brought pursuant to the Alien Tort Statute.

Ann has received Blank Rome’s Pro Bono Award for providing over 65 hours of service in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2020. She partners with Philadelphia VIP in representing low-income Philadelphia homeowners accused of negligently maintaining property in premises liability cases. She has also worked with Election Protection, answering voters’ calls to its nonpartisan voter protection hotline.
Ann also successfully represented a state prisoner in bringing a Section 1983 claim against correctional officers for the violation of his Eighth Amendment rights.
