Biography

Christopher W. Caudill’s practice is focused on complex commercial litigation.

He is an experienced trial lawyer with a diverse commercial litigation practice, representing clients from a variety of industries in high-profile business disputes. He has advised and represented corporations and individuals in state and federal court proceedings in a wide range of subject matters, including energy, construction, technology, and white-collar regulatory defense.

Experience

  • Obtained favorable settlement of masonry subcontractor following multimillion-dollar construction defect claim related to construction of elementary school in Central Texas.
  • Represented steel assembly manufacturer in multiple homeowner claims related to coating, adhesion, and installation.
  • Favorable settlement for hydraulic lift manufacturer in large-scale wrongful death claim involving commercial trucking company.
  • Assisted in obtaining motion to dismiss in federal court for cargo company against claims of failure to pay for transportation and delivery costs.
  • Counsel in AAA arbitration representing national fast-food franchise and defending against injury and damage claims brought by former employee.
  • Obtained favorable settlement for masonry subcontractor in construction defect action related to water intrusion and moisture barriers in residential home.
  • Oversaw defense and settlement of multi-million-dollar catastrophic fire claim involving sublimation machine manufacturer.
  • Obtained favorable settlement for glass and glazing subcontractor following allegations of moisture intrusion and mold at commercial property in Dallas County, Texas.

Chris serves as a member of the Garland Walker American Inn of Court, the National Asian Pacific Bar Association, the Asian American Bar Association, and the Houston Bar Association. Chris also serves as member and Pro Bono Committee co-chair of the Houston Young Lawyers Association and a judge of the Hicks Thomas National Moot Court Championship. He is a Young Energy Professionals (“YEP”) Practice Committee member and is the YEP’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (“DEI”) representative for the Institute for Energy Law’s (“IEL”) DEI Committee.
