Biography
Cole Duncan, Ph.D., concentrates his intellectual property practice primarily on patent preparation and prosecution, post-grant proceedings, and due diligence for licensing.
Cole has represented clients in a variety of technical areas, including:
- Polymer chemistry and end uses of polymer products
- Biomedical devices
- Oil discovery and recovery tools and methods
- Nanotechnology and materials science
- Chemical and biological species characterization systems and methods
- Reverse osmosis systems for water purification and desalination
- Laminates, coatings, and thin films
During law school, Cole served as a judicial clerk under Judge Michael Keele and Magistrate Judge Victoria Ransberger of the Marion County Superior Court. Prior to practicing law, he attended Syracuse University where his studies focused in inorganic chemistry, nanochemistry, and materials science.
During his time at Syracuse University, Cole authored or co-authored numerous peer reviewed articles in leading industry publications, including ACS Catalysis, ChemCatChem, Chemistry of Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Chemical Communications, Nano Letters, and Analyst.
