James S. Ross

Biography

James concentrates his practice on commercial finance, focusing on representation of lenders in connection with secured financing transactions. He advises clients through the full lifecycle of transactions, from inception and structuring through business reorganization and financial restructuring. James has broad experience with a wide variety of commercial finance products and represents a range of clients, including major commercial banks, commercial finance companies, and other lending entities, in areas such as:

  • Syndicated secured lending transactions
  • Asset-based financing
  • Split collateral, unitranche, first lien/second lien, first-out/last-out, and mezzanine financings
  • Acquisition and recapitalization financing
  • Equipment leasing and finance

James also represents private equity and other private borrowers in a range of financing transactions.

Outside the Firm

James is active in his local community, sits on the board of the Touro Synagogue Foundation in Newport, Rhode Island, and is an Eagle Scout.
