Melissa A. Scacchitti

Biography

Melissa A. Scacchitti concentrates her practice on energy, environment, and mass torts matters.

Melissa has experience counseling clients on environmental matters and litigation, including overseeing the remediation of contaminated properties around the country, negotiating and complying with state and federal environmental agencies and statute, monitoring and adhering to all regulatory requirements, coordinating site access for environmental testing and monitoring, and reviewing and evaluating environmental concerns during transactions, mergers, and acquisitions.

Melissa also manages outside counsel, liability experts, and environmental consultants on all matters of litigation throughout the United States, including commercial torts, products liability, personal injury, property damage, and complex mass casualty claims. She also advises businesses of exposure on significant matters including evaluation of state and federal regulatory compliance, and risk management for future disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Melissa served as associate counsel in litigation and environmental law at an American energy distribution company, an associate at two litigation firms, and a law clerk at the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

Outside the Firm

Melissa enjoys traveling, hiking, and trying new restaurants in Philadelphia with family and friends.
