Biography
CHAIR, FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS LITIGATION AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE (“FILARC”) GROUP
As chair of Blank Rome’s Financial Institutions Litigation and Regulatory Compliance (“FILARC”) group and a nationally recognized leader in the consumer financial services industry, Wayne Streibich represents consumer mortgage lenders and servicers with respect to federal and state regulatory issues, and in consumer mortgage loan litigation. He has more than two decades of experience counseling clients in consumer finance law and related regulatory proceedings and litigation in the industry.
Wayne’s practice is focused on successfully resolving high-profile matters for his consumer mortgage services industry clients across the universe of federal and state regulatory and compliance issues, including RESPA, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, TILA, and SCRA. In cases where litigation ensues, he has an enviable record of success in both single borrower and multiple borrower actions. Wayne regularly defends clients in significant class action litigations involving both nationwide and state-specific classes.
Additionally, Wayne has extensive experience representing middle market and emerging growth companies in a broad array of matters, which include planning and formation; preparation of shareholder, operating, employment, and non-competition agreements; as well as in purchase, sale, and merger transactions.
Experience
- Counsel for mortgage lenders and servicers regarding Truth in Lending Act (“TILA”) and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (“RESPA”) issues.
- Lead counsel in federal and state consumer finance litigation in multiple jurisdictions, including class actions.
- Act as outside general counsel, from formation, for one of largest U.S. body armor manufacturers.
- Act as outside general counsel for one of largest U.S. slot base manufacturers.
- Represented pre-revenue company in sale of proprietary software product to public company.
- Represented seller of one of largest New Jersey independent health insurance brokers to nationwide broker.
